To reduce the use of disposal containers and establish a circular model for food container use, the EPA is working with private companies to test the feasibility and applicability of using reusable containers in the food delivery industry.
The EPA held a Zero-Waste Food Delivery Press Conference in National Cheng Kung University on 9 November 2020 to announce the start of the program. Consumers in the participating districts can first search for the business account Goodtogo on the LINE app and join the membership. They can then opt for reusable containers while purchasing from the 22 participating restaurants. After a meal, consumers are to clean the containers and return them within three days at any of the 30 return locations. The returned containers will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before being reused again to ensure hygienic and environmental health.
The program is completely voluntary and does not require extra cost to encourage public participation.
