In 2017, TSC imported coffee beans at reasonable prices directly from Honduran small coffee farmers. It reduces intermediary costs; in addition, Taisugar and IMPCT, a social enterprise, jointly contribute a portion of proceeds from the coffee trade to help build local schools, taking solid actions to support local small coffee farmers and remote education. "Because of rugged landscape and resource scarcity, it takes 4 hours for rural children to the nearby school, and most local families are financial vulnerable so as to have kids no choice but to drop out of school," TSC said. 'Las Delicias' is the first secondary school in the community which offers 5-year educational programs, following on from elementary schools and preparing for college education. Through the 'Community and Leadership Development' project, school leads students to apply what they have learned, solve problems, improve the community, and further raise overall living standards. "Las Delicias is the second school that TSC and IMPACT have jointly established, and the first one Los Izotes was founded in August 2018," added TSC, noting that the third school will be operating soon. There are about 20-30 students in each school, ages 12 to 18, and each one of them is promising to revive local community.
