These samples were analyzed using X-ray diffraction, X-Ray fluorescence, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry to identify the material structure and composition, which were also used as the information of research in this project. Factsage is a powerful simulation software used to calculate and predict the reduced reaction of lead paste thermodynamically, especially on the difference of reaction before and after pre-treatment of lead paste. According to the simulation, taguchi experiment was executed to investigate the effect reductant, additive, recipe, and reaction condition on lead recycling rate. The information will also be used as the reference of reduction of lead acid battery and design of refractory material. Refractory material is one of the critical materials in lead smelting process, which is used to maintain the temperature and lining of furnace. The properties of refractory influence the lifetime, operation temperature, and composition of slag. The operation temperature of lead melting in domestic industry companies is generally lower than typical process, which is mainly caused by the composition and structure of refractory material. In this project, refractory materials are sampled and analyzed as the reference of research, and new refractory materials are developed for the unique operation condition. With the design of refractory composition, powder size distribution, additive composition, pre-shaped, and hot press, the brick are manufactured. After physical, chemical, and mechanical test, refractory material is going to be used in the furnaces of domestic industry companies to increase the operation temperature, lifetime, and reduce the concentration of lead in slag.
