Firstly, for the new vehicle type approval with regard to noise, 994 new type certifications were granted up to November 30, 2012. The statistics of new vehicle spot check and quality control test reports showed fully comply with the COP (Conformity of Production) requirements.
Secondly, to implement the policy of briefing examination process, this project review with emission examination, authorization and industries to integrate the Emission and noise certification of Diesel Vehicles. Now the E-system is being modified to integrate the certification process of all vehicle types, and this will be achieved at the beginning of next year. To improve the certification efficiency, the noise application interface is developed and integrated with the Gasoline/Motorcycle emission certification E-system. This will integrate the application and grant become single window process.
On the other hand, owing to the measurement of in-use vehicle noise often be interfered by background environment. This project proposed an soundproof-box to prevent the disturbance, we finish some real vehicle test data which showed the feasibe of this method.
Finally, because of the tendency of international regulation harmonization, this project continually paid close attention on the progress of UN/ECE vehicle noise regulations. Since the new UN/ECE R41 had been pubilished and will be implemented from 2014. The Japan and European Union will synchronize to adopt this new regulation.
