The identification number will help to facilitate tracking subsidy awards. Manufacturers have expressed their willingness to accommodate the EPA’s request. Electric bicycles currently sell in the range of NT$18,000-20,000, approximately NT$5,000 higher than traditional bicycles. This has led to limited consumer interest in the vehicles.
