To implement the management of toxic chemical substance operations, to supervise the self-management of toxic chemical substance operations, as well to reduce food safety risks by avoiding selling the non-food-grade chemical materials to the food businesses or other unknown persons, the project ‘’2019 Management of Toxic chemical substances and chemical substances’’ has conducted the following works:
1.Promoting the management of toxic chemical substances operation
(1)Inspect the city's large number toxic chemical substance manufacturing sites 102 times.
(2)Inspect the city's toxic chemical substance manufacturing sites 404 times.
(3)Establish environmental protection inspection punishment controlled system and database to a total of 704 documents
(4)Conduct (toxic) chemical substance project inspection or on-site inspection 210 times, including 2 illegal manufacturers operating toxic chemical substances.
(5)Inspect the city's toxic chemical substances operation records and shipping documents flow, including the toxic chemical substances upstream and downstream operation records flow for 218 documents, toxic chemical substances shipping documents for 11 documents, and the consulting and counseling for 404 documents.
2.Holding educational and promotional activities and toxic chemical disaster response and rescue drills.
(1)Conduct 4 educational and training sessions of the manufacturers operating toxic chemical substances and food safety risk chemical substances with a total of 453 attendees.
(2)Hold the toxic chemical disaster response (including evacuation and sheltering) prevention and response drill for a total of 12 units mobilized 98 people, as well as the drill review meeting for a total of attendees 22 people from12 units.
3.Conducting counseling visits for chemical materials industries.
(1)200 counseling visits to chemical materials and dyestuff industries.
(2)Build the database system of the 200 counseling visits.
(3)Conduct the sampling of toxic chemical substances and food safety risk chemical substances for 1 time.
4.Conducting the survey to compile information of toxic chemical manufacturers in the Central Taiwan Science Park, the Export Processing Zone, and the petrochemical zone of the Taichung Port West Terminal
5.Holding job meeting to control the actual working progress of the project 12 times
With the carry out of the project, the Bureau will be able to control the toxic chemicals operation situation in Taichung. The factories will also understand how to respond in the event of incidents. Moreover, the non-food chemicals can be prevented from getting into the food chain.
