Attribute data including raw materials, hazardous wastes, chemical substances in wastewater and so forth is going to be applied to water pollution source tracking with GIS. Reviewing all kinds of literatures about wastewater characteristics, and categorizing characteristics with physical parameters and chemical parameters, we defined all announced industries’ wastewater characteristics with above-mention parameters, and used it as part of tools for water pollution source tracking.The third achievement is system constructing. We established a system for informing water pollution events and improve the function of water pollution source tracing module in WPGIS by developing the method of water pollution source tracing and providing user with value-added experiences through spatial analysis.
