The EPA has announced the amendments to the Air Quality Model and Simulation Standards. The amendments and four appendices have been posted on the EPA website and will become effective on 1 January 2016. The main emphasis of the amendments is the strengthening of regulations governing simulation modeling in accordance with the addition of fine particulate matters in the Air Quality Standards, to improve the air quality model simulation system. The EPA hopes that pollution prevention will be enhanced through source control. In addition, the establishment of weather simulation evaluation standards and the tightening of air quality simulation evaluation standards have also been added to provide more accurate modeling results.

New Air Quality Modeling and Simulation Standards Take Effect in January 2016 The EPA has announced the amendments to the Air Quality Model and Simulation Standards. The amendments and four appendices have been posted on the EPA website and will become effective on 1 January 2016. The main emphasis of the amendments is the strengthening of regulations governing simulation modeling in accordance with the addition of fine particulate matters in the Air Quality Standards, to improve the air quality model simulation system. The EPA hopes that pollution prevention will be enhanced through source control.
