In addition to outlining the status of environmental loading in Taiwan, Dr. Yang also reported on the status and results of applying environmental economic mechanisms to the areas of waste management and air and water pollution control.After delivering the first part of his presentation on the status of domestic environmental protection activities, Dr. Yang specially mentioned the importance of communicating with the foreign business community in Taiwan. He then went on to emphasize that the successes of applying environmental economic instruments depends on the cooperation and support of government agencies, legislative bodies, NGOs, and the media.
