On 23 March 2020, the EPA announced the Co-firing Ratio and Composition Standards for Fuels Used by Stationary Pollution Sources (hereinafter referred to as the Standards), which stipulate the composition standards for bituminous coal, fuel oil, petroleum coke and primary solid biofuels used in public and private premises, and also the co-firing ratio limits for waste-derived fuels. The Standards also serve as a basis to approve permit for fuel use by stationary pollution sources. The purpose of the Standards is to strengthen air pollution control at its source and simplify the application procedure. Along with the end-of-pipe emission standards of different industries that must be complied, air pollutant emission can be further controlled and reduced.
