In addition to slightly lowering the upper limit of the subsidy amount, no subsidy will be granted for the installation of air pollution control equipment from next year.
On 29 August 2022, the EPA revised and announced the Regulations Governing Subsidies for Maintaining the Fuel Control Systems or Installing Air Pollution Control Equipment on Heavy-Duty Diesel Vehicles (大型柴油車調修燃油控制系統或加裝空氣污染防制設備補助辦法, hereinafter referred to as the Regulations), which extended the application period for subsidies for maintaining fuel control systems to 31 December 2023 and reduced the upper limit of subsidy amount from NT$100,000 to NT$80,000. In addition, no subsidy will be granted for the installation of air pollution control equipment from 2023.
As of the end of July 2022, there were still 83,000 phases 1 to 3 heavy-duty diesel vehicles in Taiwan.
