However, until end of September 2005, there were only four strategies finishing the assessment report and all the examinations, that are, set-ups for industrial parks (industrial strategy), set-ups for golf courses (usage of land strategy), cut-downs of water quality and quantity protection areas (usage of land strategy), and water resource development principle plan in Taiwan (water development strategy). In order to make the SEA practicable, the Environmental Protection Administration plan to provide every organizations information on SEA as referral through the making of the “Government Strategy Environmental Assessment Operation Manual”. It is in order to demand all the government departments to take environmental protection into consideration while making some strategic decisions, and promote the country’s sustainable development.
On the other hand, in order to increase the understanding of the SEA’s processes and methods for the organizations, we will execute and hold seminars on government strategy environmental assessment.
