Under the first subproject, we completed background information investigation of 102 landfills. The result shows that residual capacities of landfills which can be used less than three years, are located in Taichung city, Yunlin county, Yilan county and Taitung county. Obviously visible problems of pollution prevented facilities are damaged waterproof liner, gas collecting pipe and groundwater monitor well, as the supervisor of the landfill, the environment protection bureau should take responsible to improve these problems and help to set up records to control and enhance landfill management.
Under the second subproject, the analyzing result of 30 groundwater samples showed that only Taipei County, Taizhong County, Zhanghua County Fangyuan , Kaohsiung County Gangshan, Taipei Shanzhuku and the Pingtung County Fangliau met the pollution monitoring criterion, mostly were the NH3-N item (76.6%), and TOC(13.3%).
