The project also had completed audits for 40 domestic motorcycles and 5 imported motorcycles, 3 of them had not tested. 1 motorcycle had been operated by mistake, and need to be re-audited again. The others had passed the tests. The project also had examined 4 motorcycles for their emission control components, all of them pass the examinations. The manufacturers had applied for 14 pieces of endurance tests this year. The project had surveyed the USA, Japan and the EU 2005 model year motorcycle certification data, the analysis showed most of the EU and USA vehicle models great than 700c.c. and most of the EU vehicle models less than 700c.c.can pass our 3rd and 4th stage emission regulations respectively, and the others can not pass our emission regulations. In this project, 15 quantities of high displacement motorcycles and 15 quantities of 4th stage in-used motorcycles research tests had been implemented. The results and analysis showed that the EU3 emission regulations are more stringent than our 4th stage emission regulations. The endurance test results of 4 quantities of vehicles didn’t show deterioration gradually as we expect, and showed fluctuant variation among the mileage. The domestic high displacement motorcycle showed more unstable than the motorcycles below 700c.c.. The emissions for vehicles over 15000 km seem more unstable than the vehicles under 15000 km. For the motorcycle exhaust emission estimation, we had development our domestic motorcycle exhaust emission estimation model with reference to the COPERTⅢ model. The motorcycle exhaust emissions estimated all the year round are 398216, 116362, and 7614 tons/year for CO, HC, and NOx respectively. In the item of simplifying flow chart of certification process, the application time was 8.2 days, which tally with the EPA requirement, below 10 days. For the in-used vehicles investigation tests, all the 10 engine families had passed the tests. Besides, one engine family shall execute self-recall project because it’s inconsistent in exhaust pipe between new vehicle audition and certification document.
