The results showed that adding the aromatics and its derivatives such as benzene and toluene to the illegal oil would cause automotive engine, which emitted a large amount of VOCs and toxicant. The illegal oil had higher sulfur content, and its 90% distillation temperature was higher than that of CNS national standard. Among the unqualified oil which had higher sulfur content, higher than 93% of these oil samples contained deep dye components, and this result revealed that the unqualified diesel oil from fishing boat oil. We had also proceeded the engine tail gas test for the illegal gasoline (3) and diesel oil (9) and found that there no remarkable difference on the emissions of CO and NOX from the vehicles using the illegal oil adding extra benzene and toluene, but the VOCs concentration from the vehicles using the illegal oil emitted 16- to 21- fold more than that using the high-class diesel oil. A comparison of the diesel vehicle using fishing boat oil and legal high-class diesel oil showed that there was no difference on the emissions of CO and NOX, and PM and PAHs emission concentrations increased significantly with increasing the PAHs content in the oil.
