Taiwan will now submit a formal offer as an APEC member inviting other members to participate in free cleaner production training courses.According to the IDB's plan, future cleaner production training will start primarily with the dyeing industry. The training course will be carried out in two stages. The first stage will be similar to the past model where other countries sent people to Taiwan for training. In the second stage, Taiwan and the United States will send experts to other member nations to offer seminars and establish pilot programs.Apparently, the cleaner production training courses are still in the planning stage. If the plan is approved by APEC, training will likely start early next year. The IDB official emphasized that by offering free training to international delegates, Taiwan will not only be able to introduce its domestic pollution control capabilities, but also spread word of its environmental accomplishments to other countries. Others The pollution control industry ranks among Taiwan's top ten new industries. Limitations of the local market and demand in other Southeast Asian countries have spurred local pollution control technology providers to expand beyond Taiwan.
