Stimulating rapid growth in the environmental technology industry is key to improving environmental quality in Taiwan and raising Taiwan's environmental management to an international level. Administrator Lin emphasized that resolving environmental problems is fundamentally not a technical challenge. In many cases, the technology is available to resolve problems, but other issues impede actual application. For example, in the case of industrial and hazardous waste disposal, the key challenge is ensuring strict enforcement of current laws and regulations, not finding disposal technologies.
